Build Your Government Context Document

The reusable institutional asset

What you'll be able to do

  • Understand why a reusable context document makes every later AI interaction more accurate
  • Capture the 11 fields that describe your corner of government
  • Practice letting AI interview you to build the document (Exercise: The AI Interview)

The single highest-leverage thing you can do is give AI your context once and reuse it. A Government Context Document is a one-page brief, in your own voice, that you paste at the start of every AI conversation about your work. It creates a reusable institutional asset that makes every future AI interaction more accurate and relevant, and it means you never have to re-explain yourself.

This track ships an eleven-field builder (see the Government Context Document tool). It fuses the standard role and constraints fields with self-reflection questions about your programs, your constituents, and your weekly pain points. In the exercise below, you do not fill in a form: you let the AI interview you, one question at a time, and synthesize the document for you.

Privacy rule, non-negotiable: never include resident or applicant names, addresses, unit numbers, case numbers, SSNs, DOBs, or any system identifiers in your context document. Use "Resident A" or "Case 1".
